Median Polish of a Matrix

Syntax

medpolish(x)

Description

medpolish fits an additive constant-plus-rows-plus-columns model to the values given in x. In addition to the fitted an parameters and residuals, medpolish returns a set of additivity diagnostics. The additivity diagnostics for the ij-th element are r[i]*c[j]/t. Plotting the residuals against these values provides an indication of whether an additive model is appropriate.

The sum of absolute residuals is printed at each iteration of the fiting process.
